I never know what to say when I post or make content. It feels far more natural and almost comforting to say "we" instead of I or me. Core Apparel Company was founded by me, Alyssa, and so far I am the only employee of my company.
However, I like saying "we" because there have been so many people in my life who have given me their time and energy to help me give my brand life. I feel like they are all a part of my company (though they may not see the salary they would prefer too!).
A little about me, if you would like to know. I have worked in retail and fashion for several years. I hold a degree in fashion merchandising and product development, and graduate Summer 2023 with an MBA. My passions lie in clothing and textiles and sustainability. In my free time, my fiancé and I really enjoy getting outdoors, spending time with our cats, and traveling!
I started Core Apparel because I had wanted to own my own business for years and I finally took the leap. Since then, though I have not been able to do this job full time yet, that is ultimately my goal.
Currently we are an online store that occasionally has in person events. I buy our merchandise from wholesale brands, but my goal is to start manufacturing my own clothing line. While this may be a longer term goal that I am hoping for, ultimately this would give me the control over my product that I am really wanting. Sometimes it's hard to find products with the exact price or materials that I am looking for.
So basically, keep an eye out for what is to come!
